Summary
Product identification
AMBERJET™ 1300 Na is an industrial grade, strong acid cation exchanger. It is a uniform particle size, gel type, sulfonated styrene divinylbenzene copolymer resin designed for water treatment applications including softening and demineralization.
Key Features
- High capacity
- Exceptional physical and chemical stability
- Superior oxidation resistance compared to conventional resins
- Uniform particle size distribution, optimized for AMBERPACK™ and other packed bed systems
Applications
- Softening: Used in the sodium (Na⁺) cycle.
- Demineralization: Used in the hydrogen (H⁺) cycle.
- Stratabed™ (layered bed) columns: Can be used with AMBERLITE™ IRC86SB resin in the H⁺ cycle.
- Combined de-alkalization and softening: Can be used with AMBERLITE™ IRC86SB resin in the sodium cycle.
- Regenerable mixed bed units: Can be combined with AMBERJET 4200 or AMBERJET 4400 anion exchangers.
Operating Parameters
Service flow rate
- 5 to 50 BV/h (1 BV = 1 m³ solution per m³ resin)
Regeneration
- Regenerants: NaCl, HCl, H₂SO₄
- Regenerant levels (g/L):
- NaCl: 80 to 250
- HCl: 50 to 150
- H₂SO₄: 60 to 200
- Regenerant concentrations (%):
- NaCl: 6-12
- HCl: 3 to 6
- H₂SO₄: 0.8 to 5
- Minimum contact time: 20 minutes
- Rinsing:
- Slow rinse: 2 BV at regeneration flow rate
- Fast rinse: 1 to 3 BV at service flow rate
Limits of Use
AMBERJET 1300 Na resin is suitable for industrial uses. For pharmaceutical, food processing, or potable water applications, users should consult Rohm and Haas for resin selection and operating conditions.
