Activated Carbon

Powdered and granular activated carbon (PAC/GAC) for adsorption of organics, odor, and trace contaminants.

Activated Carbon for Water Treatment

Activated carbon is an adsorption medium used to remove dissolved organics, taste and odor compounds, and selected trace contaminants from water and process streams. In treatment projects, it is commonly specified as powder activated carbon (PAC) or granular activated carbon (GAC), depending on contact mode and operational strategy.

PAC and GAC Selection

PAC is typically dosed for flexible, short-response adsorption control, while GAC is used in fixed beds and cartridge systems for continuous polishing duties. Media choice should be aligned with contaminant profile, hydraulic loading, target effluent quality, and replacement or regeneration strategy.

Typical Application Scope

Activated carbon is widely used in municipal drinking-water polishing, food and beverage process-water improvement, industrial pollution-control loops, and odor-removal duty. For engineering design and procurement, verify media grade and operating assumptions against OEM datasheets before final selection.
