Engineering summary from PDF text extraction for AvistaClean P611 Green. Verify every value with the OEM datasheet.

Summary

Product identification

AvistaClean® P611 Green is a multicomponent, high pH buffered cleaner in powder form. It is free of phosphate and EDTA.

Performance benefits

  • A specialized blend of additives to dissolve organic foulants and disperse colloidal particles.
  • Environmentally friendly and free of EDTA and phosphate.
  • Foam fractionated for superior performance.
  • Highly buffered to resist pH changes during the cleaning process.
  • Compatible with the polyamide elements of all major membrane manufacturers.

Applications

Effective against foulants commonly found in wastewater reuse plants and landfill leachate systems, including hydrophobic organic foulants, bioslime, clay, and colloidal silica.

Specifications

  • Appearance: White powder
  • pH (2% solution): 10.8-11.3

Instructions for Use

A 1% wt/wt solution is recommended for mild fouling, and a 2% wt/wt solution for moderate to severe fouling.

Cleaning procedure summary:

  1. Fill cleaning tank with RO permeate or deionized water. Heat to the maximum acceptable temperature for the membrane. Add AvistaClean P611 powder to achieve the desired solution concentration (1% or 2% wt/wt). Recirculate for mixing.
  2. Run cleaning solution through each RO system stage sequentially for a minimum of 60 minutes at the membrane manufacturer's recommended flow rate. If unknown, general guidelines are provided in the original document.
  3. If the cleaning solution becomes discolored or turbid, discard up to 15% of the volume. Heavily fouled elements may benefit from a soak period (up to 8 hours).
  4. Monitor pH. If stable and solution is not turbid, proceed to subsequent stages. If pH drops, prepare a new batch and repeat steps 1-4.
  5. After cleaning, rinse membranes by flushing with RO permeate. The system can then be returned to service.
