Description

RoClean P911 is a low-foaming powder cleaner formulated to remove high levels of organics, including humic and fulvic acids, from reverse osmosis (RO) membranes. It is also effective against silt and organic foulants such as colloidal silica, clay, organic color, and bioslime. The cleaner is temperature compensated to maintain an optimal pH over a wide temperature range. It is compatible with polyamide membranes from all major manufacturers and can be used with other Avista cleaners.

Instructions for Use: Cleaning

1. Fill the cleaning tank with RO permeate or deionized water.
2. Heat the solution to the maximum acceptable temperature per membrane manufacturer guidelines.
3. Add sufficient RoClean P911 to create a 4.5% wt/wt solution.
4. Recirculate the solution for adequate mixing.
5. Run the cleaning solution through each RO system stage for a minimum of 60 minutes at the membrane manufacturer's recommended flow rate.
6. If membranes are heavily fouled, discard up to 15% of the solution volume and potentially soak elements for up to 8 hours.
7. Monitor the pH. If it remains in the desired range and the solution is clear, it can be used for subsequent stages. Prepare a new batch if the pH falls.
8. After cleaning, rinse membranes by flushing with RO permeate.
9. Return the system to service.
