RoQuest-6000

Engineering summary from PDF text extraction for RoQuest-6000. Verify every value with the OEM datasheet.

Summary

Product identification

RoQuest® 6000 is a liquid blend of organic coagulants and ferric sulfate.

Operating limits

  • Protect from freezing.

Feed water

RoQuest® 6000 is used to reduce turbidity and remove humic and fulvic acids in multimedia filters. It is formulated for membrane use, including surface waters that are brackish and seawater in origin. It is also used as a coagulant and flocculation aid in flocculator-clarifiers and multi-media filters.

Product water

RoQuest 6000 boosts filter performance by removing colloids, silt and many organic molecules, producing an improved filtrate which will reduce reverse osmosis (RO) and nanofiltration (NF) membrane fouling downstream. Capable of producing RO quality feedwater in multimedia and sand filters.

Instructions for use

Injecting

  • Inject RoQuest 6000 at least 15 feet (5 m) upstream of multimedia filters.
  • Do not use static mixers ahead of the filters.

Dosing

  • A typical RoQuest 6000 dose ranges from 5-35 mg/l.
  • Approximately 0.25 mg/l of alkalinity expressed as calcium carbonate is required per mg/l of RoQuest 6000.
  • Following coagulant addition, a minimum of 25 mg/l of residual alkalinity is required.
  • Significant overdosing may cause degradation in the quality of the filtered water.

Dilution

  • Feed neat if possible.
  • When dilution is necessary, dilute no more than 4:1 with RO permeate or deionized water.
