Vitec® 1000 is a liquid antiscalant.

Operating limits

• Application: Designed to inhibit scale in feedwaters where the potential for colloidal and silt fouling is low (e.g., groundwater applications).
• Membrane Compatibility: Compatible with all reverse osmosis (RO) membranes, including polyamide and cellulose acetate RO membranes from all major manufacturers.
• NSF Certification: Certified by NSF International under NSF/ANSI Standard 60 for use in systems producing drinking water.

Vitec® 1000 inhibits scale formation from:

• Calcium Carbonate (CaCO₃)
• Calcium Sulfate (CaSO₄)
• Barium Sulfate (BaSO₄)
• Strontium Sulfate (SrSO₄)
• Calcium Fluoride (CaF₂)

Instructions for use

Injection

• Inject downstream of multimedia filters and upstream of cartridge filters for best results.

Dosing

• Typical dose ranges from 2-5 mg/l.
• A site-specific dose can be determined using the Avista Advisor software program.

Dilution

• Formulated to be injected neat.
• If dilution is required, use deionized water or RO permeate. Softened water may be substituted if deionized water or RO permeate is unavailable.
• Dilution should not result in a solution strength of less than 10% to protect the internal bacteriostat.

Packaging and Storage

• Standard regional pack sizes include Pail, Drum, and IBC tote. Weights provided are 45 lb, 525 lb, and 2500 lb respectively for AMERICAS/ASIA and EMEA formats. Information on drumless or bulk tanker delivery is available on request.
• Should be protected from freezing.
