Summary
Product Identification
- Product Name: Vitec® 1200
- Product Type: Liquid antiscalant
- Product Line: Avista®
Operating Limits
- NSF/ANSI 60 Certification: Certified for use in systems producing drinking water.
Feed Water
Vitec® 1200 is designed to inhibit iron metal oxides, silica, and mineral scale in membrane systems, particularly in feedwaters with potential concentrations of inorganic fouling.
Product Water
This product is certified for use in systems producing drinking water.
Usage Instructions
- Injection Point: Best results are achieved when injected downstream of multimedia filters and upstream of cartridge filters.
- Dosing:
- Typical dose: 2-5 mg/l.
- Site-specific doses can be determined using Avista Advisor software.
- Dilution:
- Formulated for neat injection.
- If dilution is required, use deionized water, RO permeate, or softened water.
- Minimum solution strength should not be less than 10% to protect the internal bacteriostat.
Specifications
- Appearance: Clear, colorless
- pH (as supplied): < 2.0
- Specific Gravity (25°C): 1.05-1.15
Performance Benefits
- Effective against the following scale types:
- Calcium Carbonate (CaCO₃)
- Calcium Sulfate (CaSO₄)
- Barium Sulfate (BaSO₄)
- Strontium Sulfate (SrSO₄)
- Calcium Fluoride (CaF₂)
- Tri Calcium Phosphate (Ca₃(PO₄)₂)
- Compatible with polyamide and cellulose acetate RO/NF membranes from all manufacturers.
- May eliminate the need for acid injection.
- Helps prevent scale formation at lower doses.
- Decreases the frequency of membrane cleanings, reducing overall operating costs.
