Vitec® 1400 is a liquid antiscalant.

Application

Vitec® 1400 is designed to inhibit scale formation in municipal feedwaters, particularly where high concentrations of inorganic fouling, high hardness ground waters are present. It is effective against calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), calcium sulfate (CaSO₄), barium sulfate (BaSO₄), strontium sulfate (SrSO₄), metal oxides, silica, and calcium fluoride (CaF₂) and tri calcium phosphate (Ca₃(PO₄)₂). It is compatible with Avista® RoQuest® coagulants and may reduce or eliminate the need for acid injection.

Operating limits

Dosing

A typical dose ranges from 2-5 mg/l. Site-specific dosing can be determined using Avista Advisor software.

Dilution

Vitec 1400 is formulated for neat injection. If dilution is required, use deionized water or RO permeate. Softened water may be substituted if the former are unavailable. The dilution should not result in a solution strength less than 10%.

Feed water

Designed for municipal feedwaters.

Product water

Certified by NSF International under NSF/ANSI Standard 60 for use in systems producing drinking water.

Injection

Best results are achieved when injected downstream of multimedia filters and upstream of cartridge filters.
