Vitec® 1500

Engineering summary from PDF text extraction for Vitec® 1500. Verify every value with the OEM datasheet.

Summary

Product identification

  • Product name: Vitec® 1500
  • Product type: Liquid antiscalant
  • Product line: Avista

Vitec® 1500 is designed to inhibit or reduce calcium fluoride, calcium sulfate, calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, barium sulfate, and strontium sulfate scale. It is effective in feedwaters with potential for high concentrations of inorganic fouling, such as in wastewater reclaim/reuse applications. The product stabilizes metal ions and disperses metal oxides in the reject stream, potentially eliminating the need for acid injection.

Vitec 1500 has been certified by NSF International under NSF/ANSI Standard 60 for use in systems producing drinking water.

Operating limits

Dosing

  • Typical dose range: 2-5 mg/l
  • Site-specific doses can be determined using the Avista Advisor software program.

Dilution

  • Vitec 1500 is formulated to be injected neat.
  • If dilution is required, use deionized water, RO permeate, or softened water.
  • The solution strength should not be less than 10% to maintain the effectiveness of the internal bacteriostat.

Feed water

Vitec® 1500 is effective against:

  • Calcium Carbonate (CaCO₃)
  • Calcium Sulfate (CaSO₄)
  • Barium Sulfate (BaSO₄)
  • Strontium Sulfate (SrSO₄)
  • Calcium Fluoride (CaF₂)
  • Tri Calcium Phosphate (Ca₃(PO₄)₂)

Product water

Vitec 1500 is certified by NSF International under NSF/ANSI Standard 60 for use in systems producing drinking water.

Electrical

  • Not applicable.

Mechanical / hydraulic

Injection

  • Best results are achieved when Vitec 1500 is injected downstream of multimedia filters and upstream of cartridge filters.
