Description

Belclene 283 is a cost-effective alternative to polyacrylate-based calcium carbonate antiscalants. It is suitable for low to moderate LSI cooling applications, food applications, and Kraft pulp digester treatment.

Applications

Cooling Water Formulations

• Superior calcium carbonate scale inhibition, alone or with phosphonates.
• Provides both threshold inhibition and crystal modification.
• Stabilizes zinc to enhance corrosion control.
• Contains no phosphorus or heavy metals, suitable for all-organic programs.

Food Plant Formulations

• FDA approval for use in non-contact cooling and retort waters.
• Halogen stability.

Pulp Mill Formulations

• Superior calcium carbonate scale inhibition in Kamyr digesters.
• FDA approval for use in pulp production where the paper may contact food.
• Reduces plant downtime for cleanings and repairs.

• Freezing point: -5 to -4°C (23-25°F)
• Solubility in Water: Miscible
• Solubility in Ethylene glycol: Miscible
• Solubility in Methanol: Miscible
• Solubility in 50% caustic soda: Readily neutralized with evolution of heat
• pH limitations: To avoid precipitation, formulate below pH 2.5 or above pH 7.5. The product is stable across the entire pH range at its own concentrations.
