Summary
Product identification
Flocon 135 is an aqueous solution of a specialised phosphinocarboxylic acid designed to control inorganic scale deposition on membrane surfaces. It functions as a dispersant and is tolerant of iron.
Application
Flocon 135 is an aqueous solution of an organic acid and is corrosive in its concentrated form. Corrosion-resistant dosing equipment, such as 316L stainless steel, GRP, PVC, or PE, should be used.
Usage
Flocon 135 is miscible with water in all proportions and can be applied neat or diluted in permeate. A minimum dosing solution strength of 10% w/w is recommended. Continuous, flow-proportionate dosing is advised to maintain the recommended dose level. The required dose is dependent on feedwater quality and the saturation indices of scale-forming species in the brine. Proprietary software is used to calculate scaling indices and optimum system recovery, and dose level projections are available upon request. Consult a BWA Water Additives representative for optimal dosage recommendations.
