Summary
Product Identification
Flocon® 230 is an antiscalant for Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems, specifically developed for challenging brackish RO feedwater.
Description
Flocon® 230 is designed to effectively control the deposition of inorganic scale-forming salts and particulate fouling on membrane surfaces. It is presented as a cost-effective alternative to phosphonate-based antiscalants.
Benefits
- Excellent scale inhibition for carbonate, sulfate, and fluoride scales.
- Superior dispersancy for iron, silica, organics, silt, and clay.
- Cost-effective performance compared to phosphonate-based antiscalants.
- Low phosphorus content (5 ppb at 3 ppm dosage).
- Neutralized for easier handling and transportation.
- NSF/ANSI Standard 60 certified.
Packaging
- Pail: 55 lb (25 kg)
- Drum: 500 lb (230 kg)
Consult a sales representative for availability.
Usage
Flocon® 230 is fully miscible with water. It can be applied undiluted or as a solution in permeate. A minimum dosing solution strength of 10% w/w is recommended. Continuous and proportional dosing relative to feedwater flow is advised to maintain the recommended dose level.
The required dose level depends on feedwater quality and the saturation indices of scale-forming species in the concentrated brine. BWA's Flodose® software can be used for scaling index calculations and optimizing system recovery. Dose level projections and recommendations are available upon request.
Consult a BWA Water Additives representative for optimal dosage recommendations for your specific system.
