Description
Flocon MC3 is a high-strength powder with the following features:
- pH adjusted to 3.0 ± 0.5
- Effective at ambient temperatures
- Contains no surfactants and rinses away quickly
- Contains organic acids, detergent builders, and chelating agents
Application
Flocon MC3 is suitable for use with all polyamide, polysulfone, and thin-film composite membranes. It can be used at temperatures from 15°C (60°F) up to the maximum recommended by the membrane manufacturer.
The standard dilution ratio is 25 grams of Flocon MC3 per liter of water.
Cleaning Instructions
- Inspect cleaning tank, hoses, and cartridge filter. Install new filter elements.
- Fill the cleaning tank with RO permeate.
- Slowly add 25 grams of Flocon MC3 for each liter of cleaning tank capacity.
- Thoroughly mix the cleaning solution.
- The solution may be heated to improve cleaning effectiveness, but do not exceed the membrane manufacturer’s temperature limits.
- Circulate the solution through the membrane bank in the feed direction for one hour at the flow rate recommended by the membrane or system manufacturer. If not available, follow guidelines in the "Usage" section.
- For heavy fouling, divert the first return flow (up to 15% of the cleaning tank volume) to drain.
- Clean each pass separately in multi-pass systems.
- Discard the solution if it becomes turbid or discolored; prepare a fresh solution for additional passes.
- Rinse with permeate before returning the system to service.
