Applications

RoClean P303 is formulated to remove acid-removable scales and foulants from reverse osmosis (RO) membranes, including metals and calcium carbonate. It is suitable for systems operating on seawater, brackish water, and wastewater.

Instructions for Use

1. Fill the cleaning tank with RO permeate or deionized water.
2. Heat the solution to the maximum acceptable temperature recommended by the membrane manufacturer.
3. Add RoClean P303 to create a 1% wt/wt solution for mild fouling or a 2% wt/wt solution for moderate to severe fouling. Recirculate for adequate mixing.
4. Run the cleaning solution through each RO system stage sequentially for a minimum of 60 minutes at the membrane manufacturer's recommended flow rate.
5. For heavily fouled membranes, discard up to 15% of the solution if it becomes discolored or turbid. A soaking period of up to 8 hours may also be beneficial.
6. Monitor the solution pH. If it remains in the desired range and the solution is clear, it can be used for subsequent stages. Prepare a new batch if the pH rises.
7. After cleaning, rinse membranes by flushing with RO permeate.
