Summary
Product Identification
- Product Name: Vitec® 2000
- Type: Liquid antiscalant and dispersant
Applications
Vitec® 2000 is designed for:
- Feedwaters with a wide range of scaling challenges.
- Feedwaters with a high level of iron to be dispersed.
- Reducing colloidal and silt fouling in Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Nanofiltration (NF) systems.
- Use in surface water, well water, seawater, brackish water, and wastewater for industrial water production.
Performance Benefits
- Powerful against Calcium Carbonate (CaCO₃), Calcium Sulfate (CaSO₄), Barium Sulfate (BaSO₄), Strontium Sulfate (SrSO₄), Calcium Fluoride (CaF₂), and Silica (SiO₂).
- High tolerance for ferrous ion.
- Excellent dispersant for alum particles.
- Highly effective in a wide variety of feedwaters and pH ranges.
- Compatible with polyamide and cellulose acetate RO/NF membranes from all major manufacturers.
Instructions for Use
Injection
- Inject downstream of multimedia filters and upstream of cartridge filters.
- If using sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄), inject acid sufficiently upstream to ensure adequate mixing before Vitec® 2000 injection.
Dosing
- Typical dose: 2-5 mg/l.
- Site-specific doses can be determined using Avista Advisor software.
Dilution
- Formulated for neat injection.
- If dilution is required, use deionized water or RO permeate. Softened water may be substituted if these are unavailable.
- Dilution should not result in a solution strength of less than 10% to protect the internal bacteriostat.
