Summary
Product identification
Vitec® 3000 is a liquid antiscalant and dispersant compatible with organic coagulants. It is designed for reverse osmosis (RO) and nanofiltration (NF) membrane systems.
Applications include:
- Preventing scale precipitation and dispersing colloidal particles in cellulose acetate and polyamide membrane systems.
- Use in seawater and brackish water for potable and industrial water production.
- Approved for use in systems producing drinking water in the UK (conforming to DIN 15040) and by NSF International under NSF/ANSI Standard 60.
Operating limits
Feed water
- Effective in a wide variety of feedwaters and pH ranges.
- Effective against scale including Calcium Carbonate (CaCO₃), Calcium Sulfate (CaSO₄), Barium Sulfate (BaSO₄), Strontium Sulfate (SrSO₄), Calcium Fluoride (CaF₂), and Silica (SiO₂).
- Features crystal modification to distort inorganic salt crystal growth and reduce fouling.
Instructions for Use
Injection
- Inject downstream of multimedia filters and upstream of cartridge filters for best results.
Dosing
- Typical dose ranges from 2-5 mg/l.
- Site-specific doses can be determined using the Avista Advisor software program.
Dilution
- Formulated for neat injection.
- If dilution is required, use deionized (DI) water or RO permeate. Softened water may be used if DI or RO permeate is unavailable.
- Dilution should not result in a solution strength of less than 1%.
- DI-quality water must be used for dilutions below 10%. This protects the internal bacteriostat.
