Summary
Product identification
Vitec® 7000 is a multicomponent liquid antiscalant and dispersant.
Operating limits
Vitec® 7000 provides a high level of sulfate inhibition and allows increased reverse osmosis (RO) system recoveries in challenging waters. It prevents calcium sulfate (CaSO₄) scale precipitation, allowing up to 7 times saturation.
Feed water
The primary application of this product is brackish water or wastewater rich in sulfate, which requires a specialty product for economic membrane system recovery. It is successfully applied on industrial and potable applications.
Product water
Vitec 7000 is approved for use in systems producing drinking water in the UK, is formulated using ingredients approved for use in European drinking water systems and by NSF International under NSF/ANSI Standard 60.
Instructions for use
Injecting
Best results are achieved when Vitec 7000 is injected downstream of multimedia filters and upstream of cartridge filters.
Dosing
A typical Vitec 7000 dose ranges from 2-5 mg/l. A site-specific dose can be determined using the Avista Advisor software program.
Dilution
Vitec 7000 is formulated to be injected neat. However, if dilution is required, use deionized, or RO permeate. If neither of these is available, softened water may be substituted. The dilution for Vitec 7000 should not result in a solution strength of less than 10%. This guideline will protect the effectiveness of the internal bacteriostat, which inhibits bacterial growth in the product packaging and feed tank.

Packaging and Storage
Vitec 7000 should be protected from freezing during storage as the active ingredients may separate under extreme temperatures. If freezing occurs, warm the chemical until it returns to its liquid state and stir to recombine.
Packaging Format:
- Pail: 45 lb (23 kg)
- Drum: 500 lb (230 kg)
- IBC tote: 2500 lb (1100 kg)
Information on drumless or bulk tanker delivery is available on request.
Specifications
- Appearance: Clear, amber liquid
- pH (10% solution): 5.0-7.0
- Specific gravity (@ 20°C): 1.15-1.25
Performance Benefits
- Powerful against calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), calcium sulfate (CaSO₄), barium sulfate (BaSO₄), strontium sulfate (SrSO₄), calcium fluoride (CaF₂), and silica (SiO₂).
- Formulated with a crystal modification property that distorts inorganic salt crystal growth to reduce system fouling.
- Threshold scale inhibition at low dose rates allows economical system operation.
- Highly effective in a wide variety of feedwaters and pH ranges.
- Compatible with polyelectrolyte coagulants and RoQuest® coagulants.
Certified to NSF/ANSI 60
