Performance

Vitec® 8200 is designed to inhibit scale and disperse colloidal particles.

  • BaSO₄: 105 x Ksp

• Crystal Modification: Distorts inorganic salt crystal growth to reduce fouling.
• Compatibility:
  • Compatible with cellulose acetate and polyamide membranes from major manufacturers.
  • Effective in a wide range of feedwater types and pH ranges.
• Operation: Threshold scale inhibition at low dosage rates for economical operation.

Application

• Injection Point: Downstream of multimedia filters and upstream of cartridge filters.

Dosing Guidelines

• Typical Dosage: 2 to 5 ppm.
• Site-Specific Dose: Determined using the Avista Advisor computer program.
• Caution: Over or underdosing may cause membrane system fouling.

Dilution

• Formulation: Designed to be injected neat.
• Dilution Water: If dilution is required, use demineralized water, RO permeate water, or softened water.
• Minimum Strength: Dilution should not result in a solution strength less than 1%.
• DI Water Requirement: DI quality water must be used for any dilutions below 10% to protect the internal bacteriostat.
