General Description

RPI-2800 is specifically designed to inhibit scale formation in RO systems utilizing polyamide, cellulose acetate, and polyether membranes with an anionically charged surface. It is a dispersant system and hardness stabilizer for seawater RO, capable of reducing organic fouling and stabilizing carbonate and sulfate scales. The product does not contain phosphonates or phosphates.

Application and Dosage

• Approved Use: Highly efficient scale inhibitor for cellulose acetate and polyamide membranes, with no interaction with membrane material.
• Dosage Control: Proportional to feed water flow using standard metering pumps.
• Dilution: Can be diluted with water in any ratio. Injection is recommended undiluted or as a solution up to 10%. Diluted solutions must be consumed within 48 hours.
• Required Dosage: Depends on operating conditions and water composition, typically ranging from 1 – 5 ppm as delivered.
• Handling: Easy to handle, no aggressive components.
• pH: Slightly alkaline.
• Fitting Materials: PE, PP, or coated steel.
• Container Cleaning: For biological fouling prevention, containers should be cleaned periodically with a 10% sodium bisulphate solution.
