Summary
Product identification
- Product Name: Scale Inhibitor ROPUR RPI-3000A
- Date: 01.11.2010
General
RPI-3000A is designed to inhibit scale formation in RO systems with polyamide, cellulose acetate, and polyether membranes having an anionically charged surface. It is a stabilized solution of organic phosphonates and polyacrylates with high dispersing effects. RPI-3000A is effective against calcium sulfate and calcium carbonate scale, and provides excellent stabilization for barium and strontium sulfate. It can also stabilize iron. The contained copolymers act as dispersing agents for organic contaminants and metal oxides.
Application and Dosage
RPI-3000A is approved as a highly efficient scale inhibitor for cellulose acetate and polyamide membranes, with no interaction with the membrane material. Dosage is controlled proportionally to the feed water flow using standard metering pumps.
- Fitting Materials: PE, PP, or coated steel.
- Container Cleaning: To avoid biological fouling, containers should be cleaned with a 10% sodium bisulphate solution periodically.
- Dilution: Can be diluted with water in any ratio. Injection is recommended undiluted or as a solution up to 10%. Diluted solutions must be consumed within 48 hours.
- Required Dosage: Varies between 1 – 10 ppm (as delivered), depending on operating conditions and water composition.
- Handling: Easy to handle, contains no aggressive components. The pH value is slightly acidic.
- EU Regulations: Complies with EU regulations CEN/TS 164, EN 15039, and EN 15040 for the treatment of water intended for human consumption.
