Summary
Product identification
- Product Name: Scale Inhibitor ROPUR RPI-5000A
- Date: 01.11.2010
General
RPI-5000A is designed to inhibit SiO₂ scale formation in RO systems using polyamide, cellulose acetate, and polyether membranes with negative or neutral charged surfaces. It is a stabilized solution of polymers and copolymers suitable for broad pH ranges. RPI-5000A is effective against colloidal and dissolved SiO₂ deposits on membrane surfaces, allowing silica content in the RO-concentrate stream up to 260 mg/l under normal operating conditions. It does not contain phosphonates or phosphates.
Application and Dosage
RPI-5000A is an approved, highly efficient scale inhibitor for cellulose acetate and polyamide membranes, with no interaction with membrane material. Dosage is controlled proportionally to feed water flow using standard metering pumps. Recommended injection is undiluted. The required dosage varies between 1 to 10 ppm (as delivered), depending on operating conditions and water composition. The product has a slightly acidic pH and is easy to handle, containing no aggressive components.
