Summary

Product identification

ROPUR RPI-6000 is a scale inhibitor designed for RO systems.

General

RPI-6000 is formulated to inhibit scale formation in RO systems utilizing polyamide, cellulose acetate, and polyether membranes with an anionically charged surface. Its composition is based on stabilized anionic charged phosphonates. It is effective against calcium sulfate scaling in waters with high sulfate content (up to 15,000 mg/l) and also against calcium carbonate scales. Additionally, it prevents the deposition of metal oxides through sequestration.

Application and Dosage

RPI-6000 is approved for use with cellulose acetate and polyamide membranes, with no noted interaction with the membrane material.

Dosage is controlled proportionally to the feed water flow using standard metering pumps. Recommended fitting materials include PE, PP, or coated steel. To prevent biological fouling, containers should be cleaned periodically with a 10% sodium bisulphate solution.

RPI-6000 can be diluted with water in any ratio, though injecting undiluted or as a solution up to 10% is recommended. Diluted solutions must be used within 48 hours of preparation. The required dosage depends on operating conditions and water composition, typically ranging from 0.5 – 10 ppm as delivered.

The product is easy to handle, non-aggressive, and hydrolytically stable.

RPI-6000 complies with EU regulations CEN/TS 164, EN 15039, and EN 15040 for treating water intended for human consumption.
