The CodeLine 80S100 Fiberglass RO Pressure Vessel is designed for continuous, long-term use as housing for eight-inch nominal diameter spiral-wound reverse osmosis membrane elements. It is intended for desalting typical brackish waters. The vessel is designed in accordance with the engineering standards of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Code.

Ports
- This is a side-ported vessel.
- Permeate Port Sizes: 1”, 1.25”, 1.5”
- Permeate Port Connection Types: FNPT, MNPT, BSPTM, BSPTF, IPS GROOVED, SANITARY.
- Standard offering is 1.0” FNPT in PET/Noryl.
- 1.25” & 1.5” BSPTF, 1.25” & 1.5” FNPT and 1.25” SANITARY connections cannot be offered.
- Sanitary permeate port cannot be offered in PET/Noryl.
- Feed/Concentrate Port Sizes (Grooved End): 1½”, 2”, 2½”.
- Multi-port configurations are available; however, 1.5”, 2”, 2.5” ports are not available in 900 configurations.
Precautions
- Installation:
- Mount the shell on horizontal members at span “S” using compliant vessel supports. Shim saddles if required and tighten hold-down straps snugly.
- Align and center side ports with the manifold header. Correct causes of misalignment in a row of vessels.
- Use flexible type grooved-end pipe couplings (e.g., Victaulic® Style 77 or equal) at side ports, allowing a full 0.125 inch gap between port and piping, and position piping to maximize flexibility.
- Provide flexibility in and support for piping manifolds to allow vessel length growth under pressure (e.g., ***∆L = 0.2 in. (6mm) and ***∆DIA = 0.015 in. (0.4mm) for a length code –8 vessel).
- Provide additional flexible joints in large pipes leading to the manifold header.
- Do not make rigid piping connections to ports or clamp the vessel in any way that resists growth of the fiberglass shell under pressure.
- Do not hang piping manifolds from ports or use the vessel to support other components.
- Operation:
- Provide overpressure protection for the vessel, set at not more than 105% of the design pressure.
- Inspect end closures regularly; replace deteriorated components and correct causes of corrosion.
- Lubricate seals sparingly, using nonpetroleum-based lubricants (e.g., Parker Super O-lube®, Glycerin, or suitable silicone-based lubricants).
- Do not work on any component until first verifying that pressure is relieved from the vessel.
- Do not tighten Permeate Port connection more than one turn past hand tight.
- Do not operate the vessel without connecting both Permeate Ports internally to a complete set of elements or otherwise plugging ports internally so that the external piping connection is not subjected to feed pressure.
- Do not install a Spacer on the downstream end of the vessel.
- Do not operate the vessel without a Thrust Cone installed downstream.
- Do not pressurize the vessel until double-checking to verify that the Locking Ring is in place and fully seated.
- Do not operate the vessel at pressure and temperature in excess of its rating.
- Do not tolerate leaks or allow end closures to be routinely wetted in any way.
Ordering information
When ordering, customers should select the desired features:
- Vessel Length Code: Available from -1 to -8.
- Membrane Brand and Model: Specify to ensure appropriate interfacing hardware is furnished.
- Certification Required: Options include ASME Stamped and National Board Registered, CE Marked Standard, Certified by Pentair Water, In compliance with the ASME Sec X (but not Code Stamped), Hydro testing at 1.1 times the design pressure, or Hydro testing at 1.5 times the design pressure.
- Permeate Port Selection (for Serial Number End and Non Serial Number End):
- Size: 1”, 1.25”, 1.5”.
- Type of Connection: FNPT, MNPT, BSPTM, BSPTF, IPS GROOVED, SANITARY.
