Summary
Product identification
The product is a Tubular Steam Heater, type 'TSHA', designed for medium pressure applications up to 40 BAR.
Introduction
The TSHA heat exchanger consists of two pressure chambers within a combined housing:
- Tube side (Product side): Comprises the inner surfaces of all tubes in the tube bundle.
- Shell side (Service side): Comprises the outside of the tube bundle and the inside of the exchanger's outer shell.
It is intended for steam to fluid heat transfer and is constructed from EN 1.4404 (AISI 316L) stainless steel with a sanitary surface finish. The tube side is suitable for foodstuff fluids like dairy products and juices.
- Outside surface roughness: ≤ 1.6µm
- Internal tube side surface roughness: ≤ 0.8µm
All fluid media used must be compatible with EN 1.4404 (AISI 316L) Stainless Steel. The 40 BAR (580 PSI) maximum product side pressure design is based on either a Ø129x2 mm shell or a Ø209x3 mm shell. Other sizes and pressure ratings are available.
Regulations and Directives
The heat exchanger is designed and manufactured in accordance with:
- European Commission regulation No. 2023/2006 (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- European Parliament directive No. EN 1935/2004 (Food Contact Materials)
- European Parliament directive No. EN 1907/2006 (Chemical Restrictions (REACH))
- PED - Article 4.3 (SEP) in the European Parliament directive No. 2014/68/EU (Pressure Equipment Directive). The Heat Exchanger is designed for fluid group 2 (non-dangerous fluids). Restrictions may apply for fluid group 1 (dangerous fluids).
- 3-A Sanitary Standards 00-01 / 12-08
