Application

Point level switch for all liquids, for minimum or maximum detection in tanks, vessels, and piping, suitable for hazardous areas.

  • Tuning fork and process connection available in highly corrosion-resistant Alloy C22 (2.4602) or PFA-coated (conductive) for aggressive media.

  • 3-wire DC-PNP (FEL62): Switches load via transistor (PNP) to separate connection.

    • Power consumption: ≤ 0.5 W.
    • Current consumption: ≤ 10 mA (without load).
    • Load current: ≤ 350 mA.
  • Universal current connection, relay output (FEL64): Switches loads via 2 floating change-over contacts.
    • Supply voltage: 19 to 253 VAC, 50 Hz/60 Hz or 19 to 55 VDC.
    • Power consumption: < 25 VA, < 1.3 W.
    • Connectable load: AC ≤ 6 A, AC ≤ 253 V; DC ≤ 6 A to 30 V, DC ≤ 0.2 A to 125 V.
  • DC connection, relay output (FEL64DC): Switches loads via 2 potential-free change-over contacts.

  • 2-wire NAMUR > 2.2 mA/< 1.0 mA (FEL68): For connection to isolating amplifiers according to NAMUR (IEC 60947-5-6).
    • Supply voltage: 8.2 VDC ±20 % (Class 2 or SELV).
    • Power consumption: < 6 mW to < 38 mW.
    • Output signal: 2.2 to 3.8 mA (OK status) or 0.4 to 1.0 mA (demand/alarm).

Switching delay times: Options include 0.5s/1.0s, 0.25s/0.25s, 1.5s/1.5s, or 5.0s/5.0s for covered/uncovered states.

COM interface: For connecting optional modules VU120 (LED) or VU121 (Bluetooth).

Bluetooth® wireless technology (optional): Enables data readout via the SmartBlue app. Suitable for hazardous areas when ordered with specific accessories.

Mounting

  • Mounting location/orientation: Any orientation for pipe lengths up to approx. 500 mm (19.7 in). Vertical from above for long pipes.
  • Minimum distance: 10 mm (0.39 in) between tuning fork and tank/pipe wall.
  • Installation instructions: Consider viscosity. For low viscosity (< 2,000 mPa⋅s), the tuning fork can be within the installation socket. For high viscosity (≤ 10,000 mPa⋅s), the tuning fork must be outside the installation socket.
  • Piping installation: Suitable for flow velocities up to 5 m/s (with 1 mPa⋅s viscosity and 1 g/cm³ density).

User Interface
