Summary
Product identification
- Product Name: Solicap S
- Model Number: FTI77
- Type: Capacitance point level switch
- Document ID: TI01561F/00/EN/03.25-00
- Revision Date: 2025-02-14
Application
The Solicap S FTI77 is a robust point level switch designed for applications involving bulk solids, even at very high temperatures. It is suitable for:
- Applications with very high lateral loads (up to 800 Nm for the sword version).
- Applications with abrasive media.
- Use in safety systems requiring functional safety to SIL2/SIL3.
- Bulk solids with a relative dielectric constant εr ≥ 2.5, including but not limited to: fly ash, sand, glass aggregate, gravel, molding sand, lime, crushed ore, plaster, aluminum shavings, cement, grain, pumice, dolomite, and kaolin.
Operating limits
- Process Temperature Range:
- Sword and rope version (compact): +400 °C (+752 °F)
- Separate housing version: –40 °C (–40 °F) to +70 °C (+158 °F)
- Observe derating for ambient temperature at the housing based on process temperature.
- Process Pressure Range: –1 to 10 bar (–14.5 to 145 psi). Permitted pressure values depend on the selected flange.
Feed water
The device is intended for bulk solids with a relative dielectric constant εr ≥ 2.5. For non-conductive media with a conductivity < 1 µS/cm, the minimum probe length calculation is provided.
Product water
Not applicable. This device is for point level detection of bulk solids.
