Installation

Orientation

  • Level Measurement: Mount at or slightly above maximum level, aligned with the detector. Minimize distance to the product vessel.
  • Point Level Detection: Mount at the same height as the detector. Minimize distance to the vessel wall.
  • Density Measurement:
    • Vertical pipes: Preferably mount detector with terminal head at the top, measure with forward flow (bottom to top).
    • Horizontal pipes: Advisable to mount FQG66 above the pipe. Lateral installation is permitted only in low-vibration applications.

Mounting Screw Tightening Torque

  • Screw diameter: M20 or G1/2
  • Material: Stainless steel, Min. tensile strength: 700 N/mm²

  • Torque: 32 Nm (23.6 lbf ft)

Hazardous Area

  • Suitability for hazardous areas must be checked by the plant operator according to national regulations.
  • Avoid electrostatic charge, friction sparks, and impact sparks.
  • Integrate the device into the plant potential equalization system.
  • CAUTION: Source containers with a proximity switch or pneumatic drive are NOT suitable for hazardous areas.
