Triple rod probe 11363Z

Engineering summary from PDF text extraction for Triple rod probe 11363Z. Verify every value with the OEM datasheet.

Summary

Product Identification

  • Product: Triple rod probe
  • Model Numbers: 11363, 11363 Z

Application

These probes are designed for two-point control and limit detection in plastic vessels and vessels made of non-conducting material. They can also be used for minimum and maximum limit detection in vessels with electrically conducting walls, detecting up to three different limit points with a single probe. The 11363 Z version is suitable for explosion hazardous areas (Zone 0) and as overspill protection for water-polluting liquids (WHG).

Functionality

Two-point Control & Limit Detection

  • Plastic Vessels: Utilizes the three-rod probe with a compatible conductivity limit switch (Nivotester FTW 470 Z, FTW 570 Z, FTW 325, FTW 520 Z, or FTW 420).
    • One probe and one limit switch for two limit points.
    • One probe and two limit switches for independent two limit detection.
  • Conducting Walls: A single three-point probe can detect up to three different limit points.

Function Monitoring

  • The EW 11 Z electronic insert can be installed for continuous cable monitoring with maximum limit indication when used with specific Nivotester models (FTW 325 / 470 Z / 570 Z / 520 Z). This is required for overspill protection applications.

Complete Measuring System Compatibility

The system comprises the three-rod probe and a conductivity limit switch:

  • Nivotester FTW 470 Z: For calibration range 1 kΩ...50 kΩ.
  • Nivotester FTW 570 Z: For calibration range 100 Ω...50 kΩ (suitable for conductive deposits).
  • Nivotester FTW 325: For calibration range 1 kΩ...200 kΩ.
  • Nivotester FTW 520 Z: For calibration range 100 Ω...50 kΩ.
  • Nivotester FTW 420: For calibration range 0...50 kΩ or 0...1.5 kΩ (FTW 420 S) for non-certified applications.

Installation

  • Typically installed vertically.
  • Compact probes (up to approx. 300 mm) can be installed in any orientation.
  • A support may be required for probes subject to high lateral loads.
  • For liquids prone to depositing a conductive layer, the final spacer should be at least 100 mm from the probe tip.
  • If shortening the probe, ensure insulation is not damaged and no mechanical force is applied to the feed-throughs. Rod insulation at the tip should be removed by at least an additional 20 mm.

Technical Data

Materials

  • Probe Rods & Process Connections: Highly corrosion-resistant materials for aggressive products. Specific materials include 316Ti, Alloy B, Alloy C4, PP, PTFE.
  • Spacer Material: PFA
  • Seal (Threaded version): Elastomer/fibre, non-asbestos.

Insulation Lengths (Standard)

  • For maximum and minimum probes: 100 mm (3.94 in)

Operating Pressures and Temperatures

  • Metal Process Connections: Refer to drawing (pressure/temperature diagram provided).
  • Plastic Process Connections:
    • Operating pressure (pe): –0.2…+0.2 bar
    • Temperature (T): –25°C…+80°C
  • EW 11 Z Electronic Insert: Maximum permissible operating temperature is 80°C.

Mechanical Connection

  • Thread: G 1 ½ A (parallel, ISO 228), 1 ½“ NPT (tapered, ANSI B1.20.1)
  • Flanges (DIN): DN 40 to DN 200, PN 16 or PN 40. Available with groove-ring or tongue.
  • Flanges (ANSI): 1 ½“ to 4", 150 psi or 300 psi. Available with ring joint (11363 only).
  • Plastic Flanges (PP or PTFE): Dimensions conform to DIN (PN 16) or ANSI (150 psi) standards.

Dimensions

  • Probe Rod Diameter: ø6 mm
  • Insulation Diameter: ø10 mm
  • Housing Diameter: max. ø 88 mm
  • Probe Length (L): Available from 100 mm to 4000 mm.
    • Insulation lengths vary based on probe length and housing type (with EW 11 Z or terminals).

Electrical Connection

  • The probe can be supplied with an integrated EW 11 Z electronic insert or an integrated terminal block.
  • Connection to Nivotester FTW 420 is not permitted for explosion hazardous areas.
  • Ensure cable gland and probe housing are tight after connection.
