Measuring principle

The analyzer operates on a potentiometric principle using ion-selective glass electrodes to measure the concentration of dissolved sodium ions (Na⁺). A pH electrode is used as a reference and to measure pH. The sample is alkalized to a pH of 11.00 using a reagent like diisopropylamine (DIPA) to ensure accurate measurement of low sodium concentrations. The sensitivity to interference ions follows the order: Ag⁺ >> H⁺ >> Na⁺ > >Li⁺ > K⁺.
