Summary
Product Identification
- Product Name: Condumax CLS13
- Product Type: Conductivity sensor for high-temperature applications
- Document: TI00083C/07/EN/14.22-00, 71576069, 2022-06-30
Application
The Condumax CLS13 sensor is designed for measuring conductivity in water or steam circuits, particularly in the power plant and energy industry. It is suitable for:
- Condensate monitoring
- Boiler feedwater monitoring
- Boiler blowdown monitoring
The sensor is optimized for applications with low conductivity, very high temperatures, and high pressures. Versions with explosion protection approval (ATEX, FM, CSA) are available for hazardous areas.
Measuring Principle
The sensor operates on the principle of conductive measurement. An alternating voltage is applied across two electrodes immersed in the medium. The resulting current flow is measured, and based on Ohm's law, the electrical resistance (or conductance) is calculated. The specific conductance (κ) is then determined using the cell constant (k), which is dependent on the sensor's geometry.
Measuring System Components
A complete measuring system comprises:
- Conducting conductivity sensor CLS13
- A transmitter (e.g., Liquiline M CM42)
- A measuring cable (e.g., CYK71 for analog sensors)
