Summary
Product identification
The Liquiline System CA80FE is a wet-chemical analyzer designed for the near-continuous determination of iron concentration in liquid media.
Applications include:
- Monitoring residual dissolved iron after precipitation, flocculation, and filtration.
- Monitoring iron-rich process waters.
- Quality control of raw water for the food industry.
A "Cabinet, outdoor version" is available for outdoor installation.
Key Features
- Integrated controller with up to 2 measuring channels.
- Supports digital Memosens technology, allowing easy upgrade to a measuring station by connecting up to 4 Memosens sensors.
- Offers digital fieldbuses including PROFINET, PROFIBUS DP, Modbus TCP, Modbus RS485, and Ethernet IP.
- Includes an integrated web server.
- Designed for simple, tool-free maintenance.
Measuring Principle
The analyzer uses a colorimetric measuring principle. A specific color reagent is added to a prepared sample in a mixing/reaction chamber, causing a color change. A multispectral photometer measures light absorption at defined wavelengths, which is proportional to the iron concentration. A reference measurement is performed to compensate for interference.
The photometric determination of iron utilizes the Ferrozine method, reacting with iron (II) in a buffered solution. A reduction agent is included to convert Fe(III) to Fe(II) for total dissolved iron measurement. Absorption is measured at 568 nm.
