Measuring principle
The sensor uses an amperometric measuring principle to determine free chlorine via hypochlorous acid (HOCl). HOCl diffuses through a membrane and is reduced at a gold working electrode, while silver is oxidized at a silver counter electrode, generating a current proportional to the free chlorine concentration. An additional pH measurement is recommended for compensation due to HOCl's dependence on pH. The transmitter converts the current signal to a concentration value (mg/l or ppm).
Cross-sensitivity
The sensor exhibits cross-sensitivities to:

Installation instructions
- Flowfit CYA27: Ensure minimum flow of 15 cm/s (0.49 ft/s) and minimum volume flow (5 l/h or 30 l/h depending on version). Maximum permissible backpressure is 1 bar relative. Avoid negative pressure. Filter heavily contaminated water.
- Other flow assemblies: Ensure a minimum flow velocity of 15 cm/s at the membrane, upward flow direction, and direct exposure of the membrane to the flow.
- CYA112 immersion assembly: Ensure sufficient flow towards the sensor.
