Measuring Principle
Free bromine is determined via hypobromous acid (HOBr) using an amperometric measuring principle. HOBr diffuses through the sensor membrane and is reduced at the gold working electrode, while silver is oxidized at the silver counter electrode. This process generates a current proportional to the free bromine concentration. The concentration of HOBr is pH-dependent, and a simultaneous pH measurement is recommended for compensation. The transmitter converts the current signal to concentration in mg/l (ppm). The sensor can also measure organic bromination agents, with recalibration recommended for such applications.
Cross-sensitivity
Cross-sensitivities exist for: total bromine, free chlorine, total chlorine, chlorine dioxide, ozone, hydrogen peroxide, and peracetic acid.

- Memosens CCS55E disinfection sensor (membrane-covered, ⌀25 mm) with a mounting adapter.
