Summary
Product identification
Memosens CPS71E pH sensor for chemical process applications. Digital sensor with Memosens 2.0 technology and a poison-resistant reference system utilizing an ion trap.
Application
Process technology and monitoring of processes with:
- Rapidly changing pH values
- High proportion of electrode poisons such as H₂S
Approvals for hazardous areas: ATEX, IECEx, CSA C/US, NEPSI, Japan Ex, and INMETRO for Zone 0, Zone 1, and Zone 2.
Features and Benefits
- Extended service life due to poison-resistant reference with improved ion trap.
- Bridging electrolyte free of silver ions and acrylamide.
- TP reference system: Pressurized reference for chemical processes with high concentrations of reference poisons.
- TU reference system: Suitable for upside-down installation with solidified gel in the internal reference lead.
- Integrated NTC 30K temperature sensor for effective temperature compensation.
- Choice of 1 or 3 ceramic junctions (TB and TC reference system).
Memosens Technology Advantages:
- Maximum process safety via non-contact, inductive signal transmission.
- Data security through digital data transmission.
- Ease of use with sensor data stored in the sensor.
- Predictive maintenance enabled by recording sensor load data (with Memobase Plus CYZ71D).
Measuring Principle
pH Measurement: The sensor generates an electrochemical potential based on the pH of the medium, which is converted to a pH value using the Nernst equation. An Ag/AgCl reference system is used as the reference electrode.
Measuring System Components:
- pH sensor CPS71E
- Memosens data cable (CYK10 or CYK20)
- Transmitter (e.g., Liquiline CM44, Liquiline CM42)
- Assembly (e.g., immersion, flow, retractable, permanent installation)
- Optional: Automatic cleaning and calibration system
Digital Data Storage
Digital sensors with Memosens technology store the following data:
- Manufacturer data (serial number, order code, date of manufacture)
- Calibration data (date, slope, zero point, offset of temperature sensor, number of calibrations, history, transmitter serial number)
- Operating data (temperature and pH application range, commissioning date, maximum temperature, hours of operation, sterilization count, CIP counter, sensor load)
This data can be displayed using Liquiline CM42, CM44x, and Memobase Plus CYZ71D.
Input
- Measured Variable: pH value, Temperature
- Measuring Range:
- Application B: pH 0 to 14; Temperature 0 to 140 °C (32 to 284 °F)
- Application H: pH 0 to 12; Temperature 0 to 140 °C (32 to 284 °F)
Performance Characteristics
- Reference System:
