The OUSAF22 is an optical sensor designed for measuring color concentrations within the visible electromagnetic spectrum. It is intended to be used in conjunction with the OUA260 flow assembly and a Liquiline CM44P transmitter.

Measuring principle

The sensor operates on the principle of light absorption, based on the Lambert-Beer law. It emits light through the medium, with a beam splitter directing a portion to a measuring detector and another to a reference detector. The reference detector compensates for particles, bubbles, and lamp aging. Wavelength selection is achieved using filters, and light intensity is converted to a photocurrent by a photodiode. The associated transmitter converts this to absorbance units (AU) or optical density (OD).
