Thermowell Diameters

  • 18 mm (0.71 in), 24 mm (0.94 in), or 26 mm (1.02 in).

Insert Diameters

  • 3 mm (0.12 in) or 6 mm (0.24 in).

Electrical

Accuracy

  • Thermocouple Accuracy: Refer to IEC 60584 and ASTM E230/ANSI MC96.1 for standard and special tolerances.
  • RTD Accuracy: Refer to IEC 60751 for Class A, AA, and B tolerances.

Response Time

  • Calculated at approx. 23 °C in running water (0.4 m/s flow rate, 10 K excess temperature). Specific values vary based on thermowell diameter, tip length, and sensor type (RTD/TC).
  • Example for RTD, 18 mm thermowell, U=65 mm: t50 = 22 s, t90 = 60 s.

  • Insert response times: Faster values are provided for the insert alone, tested in flowing water.

Insulation Resistance

  • RTD: > 100 MΩ at 25 °C (100 V DC).
  • TC: > 1 GΩ at 20 °C and > 5 MΩ at 500 °C (500 V DC).

Dielectric Strength

  • Ø6 mm: ≥ 1 000 V DC between terminals and sheath.
