Measuring Principle
Resistance Thermometer (RTD)
- Utilizes Pt100 temperature sensors (100 Ω at 0 °C).
- Types:
- Wire wound (WW): Larger size, good long-term stability up to 600 °C, sensitive to vibrations.
- Thin film (TF): Smaller size, better vibration resistance, potential deviation from standard at high temperatures.
Thermocouples (TC)
- Based on the Seebeck effect.
- Measure temperature differences; absolute temperature requires cold junction compensation.
- Standardized in IEC 60584 and ASTM E230/ANSI MC96.1.
Measuring System
- Modular design allowing for easy replacement or calibration of the insert without process interruption.
- Designed for installation in existing thermowells.
