Summary
Product identification
The BMT AMBIENT OZONE SIMULATOR AOS 1 is designed for comparing two ambient ozone monitors.
Operating limits
- Ambient conditions for performance evaluation: 25°C, 1 atm, 50% RH.
- Ozone concentration range:
- Maximum: 1.5 ppmv (with internal short set to maximum power, external fine adjust set to 100%, and internal shutters fully open).
- Maximum without internal short: 0.75 ppmv.
- External fine adjust allows reduction from 100% down to approximately 2.7% (38:1 ratio).
- Internal shutters can shade the UV lamp from maximum down to practically zero.
- UV lamp operation: Starts automatically when connected to power if the fine adjust is set to approximately 13% or higher. Can be started with the "START" button at lower settings.
Mechanical / hydraulic
- Dimensions: Approximately 17 x 11 x 3.3 cm.
- Air flow rate:
- Each connected BMT ambient OZONE MONITOR operates at a constant sample air flow rate of 1 l/min.
- The simulator is defined at a total air flow rate of 2 Nl/min (1 Nl/min for reference monitor, 1 Nl/min for device under test).
- Performance data evaluated with a constant flow rate of 2 Nl/min.
Electrical
- Power supply: 24 VDC, 300 mA supplied by a wall-mount adapter.
- Input power supply range: 100 - 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz.
- Mains connectors: Includes three exchangeable connectors for Europe, UK, USA, and Japan (Australia on request).
Controls
- External potentiometer: "ADJUST (FINE)" for 10-turn control.
- Internal short plug: Selects two electric power levels for the UV lamp.
- Internal adjustable shutters: Shade the UV lamp's radiation emitting surface.
- "START" button: Initiates UV lamp operation at lower fine adjust settings.
Safety
- Front panel window: Allows visual inspection of the UV lamp and includes a radiation filter to remove dangerous UV radiation.
