Summary

Product Identification

Aeroqual SM50 OEM Ozone Sensor Module

Software Options

Two software options are available:

  • Switching Device: For simple on/off switching of equipment. (Not installed)
  • Control Device: Maintains a specific gas concentration between user-defined levels by controlling external devices via the on-board relay. (Installed)

Software is loaded prior to delivery and can only be altered by returning to Aeroqual Limited.

Operating Instructions

Relay Set Point Configuration

The Relay and Alarm Set Point is factory set by default, but can be adjusted using dip-switches. The table below shows example set points for different ozone sensor types.

Status LED / Diagnostics

  • Startup: Flashes green 2-6 times at 0.5-second intervals.
  • Warm-up (3-10 minutes): Flashes green at 2-second intervals.
  • Normal Operation: Solid green.
  • Sensor Failure: Flashes green rapidly at 0.3-second intervals.

Relay LED

Glows red when the gas concentration reaches the "Relay-Set-Point" and the relay is activated.

Using the Relay Output

The relay has volt-free contacts (NO, NC, COM) rated for a maximum of 30V / 2A. For higher loads, an external relay is required.

  • Normally Open (NO) Relay: Closes when the set point is reached, activating the external device. Switches off when the concentration drops below the set point. Fail-safe if power fails.
  • Normally Closed (NC) Relay: Opens when the set point is reached, deactivating the external device. Switches on when the concentration drops below the set point. Not fail-safe.

Operation as a Control Device

This mode requires specialized software loaded at the factory. The SM50 maintains gas concentration within a "dead band" (± 10% of the set point).

  • When concentration rises from below the "Lower Limit" to the "Upper Limit", the relay remains closed.
  • When concentration falls from above the "Upper Limit" to the "Lower Limit", the relay remains open.
