Summary
Product Identification
The SYCON 2602 is an online analyzer with comfort functions, designed for limit value monitoring. It is part of the Sycon analyzer product line.
Applications
The SYCON 2602 is suitable for various water types, including:
- Drinking water
- Raw water
- Waste water
- Boiler water
- Cooling water
It is also used for:
- Water softening plants
- Reverse osmosis systems
Operating Principle
The analyzer uses a colorimetrical measuring method. It features an integrated measuring technology with a two-stage analysis procedure including zero point measurement, which automatically detects and eliminates external measuring influences like contamination, turbidity, and extraneous light. Calibration is not required. A maintenance-free full-color sensor is a key component for autonomous operation.
Limit Value Functionality
- Reliably detects hardness breakthroughs using limit value reagents.
- The limit value is defined by the reagent used.
- No further configuration or calibration is necessary.
- A reference measurement can be performed after a measurement to evaluate the result, preventing false alarms.
Reagents
- Reagents have a shelf-life of 24 months and are produced according to a specific recipe.
- A 500 ml bottle allows for more than 5,000 analyses.
- Reagent consumption is < 0.10 ml / analysis.
- Various reagents are available for monitoring total hardness and carbonate hardness.
- Available total hardness limit value reagents include: 0.02, 0.05, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, 0.50, 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 °dH.
- Available carbonate hardness limit value reagents include: 1, 1.5, 2, 3 °dKH.
- The unit can be switched between °dH, °f, ppm, and mmol/l.
Features and Functions
- Display: Allows quick and comprehensive metering of device status and shows the results of the last 100 measurements.
- Operation: Simplified via detailed, clear menu navigation. An installation wizard assists with initial startup.
- Data Logging: SD card enables detailed evaluation of stored measured values, with all results stored with a time stamp.
- Multilingual Menu: Switchable between German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Polish, Dutch, and Danish.
- Alarm Functions:
- Potential-free relay output for limit value alarms.
- Can be used to signal a control room, operate a horn, close a valve, or initiate a regeneration program for water softening plants.
- Diagnostic Program: Issues fault messages via a potential-free relay and guides the user through functions to locate the cause of errors.
- Digital Input: For potential-free contacts like flow meters or timers. Can be used to pause analyses or as a start input.
- Relay Outputs: Three potential-free relay outputs (250 VAC/VDC, 4 A) for limit value alert, device error, or active analysis status. Can also switch signaling devices or solenoid valves.
