- Water Outlet Hose Diameter: Internal diameter 12 mm.
- Reagent Bottle Storage: 500 ml.
Performance Specifications
- Measurement Principle: Wet-chemical online monitor using the photometric analysis principle, based on the DPD method (EN ISO 7393-2).
- Analysis Process: Involves adding three reagents, with a reaction time of approximately 1 minute (excluding flush time).
- Cleaning Function: Measuring chamber is cleaned after a pre-set number of analyses.
- Key Features:
- Menu-driven operation with plain text display.
- Freely selectable units (ppm or mg/l).
- Precise piston-dosing pump.
- Analysis initiation options: Automatic interval, external control, volume controlled (water meter).
- Two independent limit values with hysteresis.
- Monitoring of two measuring points (via external solenoid valves).
- Internal error documentation.
- Programmable service address and maintenance interval.
- Optional interfaces: 0/4-20 mA or 0/2-10 V, or RS 232 for a log printer.
Safety Information
- Read operating instructions carefully and completely before working with the instrument.
- Adhere to hazard warnings and safety information for reagents and chemicals, consulting safety data sheets.
- Disconnect power before installation and connection/disconnection.
- Only connect to the specified mains voltage.
- Protect the instrument from moisture, condensation, and splash water.
- Do not perform modifications not described in the instructions.
- Maximum electrical load capacity of relay outputs must not be exceeded.
- Immediately switch off and contact service staff if malfunctioning occurs. Unauthorized tampering voids warranty.
- Use only a dry, lint-free cloth for cleaning.
- Dispose of the instrument in accordance with national regulations.
- Assembly and commissioning require electrical and process engineering knowledge and should be performed by specialists.
Installation
- Install in a location protected against dripping/splash water, dust, and aggressive substances (e.g., switch cabinet or wall).
- Install vertically, without mechanical stress, and at a vibration-free site.
- Water inlet hose should be as short as possible (max. 5 m).
- Ensure sufficient space on the left side for the door to open.
- Water pressure must be between 0.3 bar and 8 bar, avoiding strong fluctuations.
- Water inlet connection should be laid vertically upwards to prevent dirt ingress.
- Install a manually operated shut-off valve in the branch to the instrument.
- Use an opaque plastic hose (6/4 x 1) for the water inlet.
- Water outlet hose (internal diameter 12 mm) should be laid without backwater or siphoning effect.
- Connecting cables should be short and installed separately from power cables.
- Connect the instrument to the protective earth conductor (for 230/115 VAC).
- Protect against interference voltages using a mains filter if necessary.
Commissioning
- Use only Heyl Testomat 2000® reagents for guaranteed trouble-free operation.
- Ensure reagent bottles are correctly assembled with the intake hose.
- Fill the intake and transport hoses with reagent from the pump up to the measuring chamber.
- Slowly open the manual shut-off valve for the water inlet to prevent overflowing; allow 2-6 seconds to fill the measuring chamber.
Instrument Settings and Data Input
- Date/Time/Weekday: Configurable via the programming menu.
- Password Protection: A four-digit password (current time in reverse order) is required for basic program settings.
- Operating Mode: Options include Time Controlled, Volume Interval (via water meter), Dynamic Analysis Start, and External Analysis Start.
- Analysis Interval (Time Control): Determined by interval pause (0-99 minutes), flush times, and analysis duration.
- Volume Control: Analysis triggered after a programmed water quantity is measured (1-9999 litres).
- Water Meter Type: Configurable constant (e.g., 100 litres/impulse).
- Displayed Unit: Programmable as mg/l or ppm.
- Parameter Selection: Can measure Free Chlorine or Total Chlorine. For total chlorine, reagents A, B, and C are used. For free chlorine, reagent C is disconnected.
- Flushing Times:
- Internal Flushing: Recommended > 60 seconds if the plant is idle or intervals are long. Minimum 10 seconds for connections > 3 m with 6 mm internal hose diameter.
- External Flushing: Recommended for short analysis intervals or long/large diameter supply lines.
- Interval Pause: 0 to 99 minutes between analyses when using timer triggering.
- Limit Value Monitoring: Two limit values (LV1, LV2) can be programmed. Outputs react based on programmed switch functions.
- Hysteresis: Suppression of the first, second, or third "bad" analysis result (setting 1, 2, or 3) to improve evaluation reliability.
Maintenance
- Refer to the "Maintenance" section and the "Maintenance manual of Testomat 2000®/Testomat ECO®".
- Regular visual inspection is recommended, checking reagent expiry, hose connections, air in hoses, water connections, instrument cleanliness, and measuring chamber/drain.
