- Must be protected against wetness, moisture, splashed water, and condensate.
- Surge category: II.
- Soiling degree: II.
Requirements for Cables and Lines
- Dielectric strength: 30 V to 260 V according to nominal voltage.
- Cable duct clamping range: 4.5 mm – 10 mm external diameter.
- Terminal strips require core cross-sections of 0.08 mm² to 2.5 mm² (single-wire or fine-wire with ferrules).
- For fine-wire cores with plastic collar ferrules, cross-section up to 1.5 mm².
- Single-wire cores: AWG28 – AWG12.
Requirements for Cable Ducts
- Housing recesses are intended for M16 ducts.
- Duct opening should be smooth and rounded.
- Secure bending protection (five times max. cable diameter).
- Duct must include strain relief.
- Material flammability rating: V1 or better.
Assembly
- Disconnect power before assembly or connection/disconnection from power.
- Connect only to the mains voltage specified on the type plate.
- Observe technical data and environmental parameters.
- Lay mains voltage and relay output cables separately.
- Do not operate without partition walls or terminal area covers.
- ESD Safety: Take necessary measures to avoid electrostatic discharge onto components when opening the casing. Ensure you are earthed.
- Power Switch: The device has no power switch; use an external, clearly marked switch.
- Ensure maximum electrical load capacity of switching outputs is not exceeded (total load must not reach 4A).
- Never attempt to repair the device yourself; repairs must be by authorized personnel.
- Cable Ducting: Loosen strain relief, remove blanking plug, insert cable, tighten union nut.
Connecting Water Intake and Discharge
- Water Temperature: Must be between 10 and 40°C. Water exceeding 40°C can cause burns or damage. A cooler is required for temperatures above 40°C.
- Water Pressure: 0.3 to 8 bar. For pressures of 0.3 to 1 bar, the flow governor core may need to be removed. For pressures under 0.3 bar or suction from a tank, a booster pump (e.g., MepuClip) is recommended. For operation exceeding 8 bar, a pressure reducer is required.
- Intake Lines: Recommended under 3m. For longer lines (>3m), configure purge periods > 60s. For cable lengths > 5-10m, external flushing via AUX is recommended.
- Water Intake Connection:
- Connect directly to the sampling pipe, vertically upwards.
- Install a manual stop valve.
- Use opaque plastic pressure hose 6/4 x 1 (max. 5m).
- Purge intake to remove dirt.
- Water Drain Connection:
- Use supplied funnel and drain hose (internal diameter 12 mm/14 mm).
- Lay hose free of back pressure and siphon effect.
Connecting Mains and Devices
- Risk of Injury: Disconnect all power before assembly.
- Use verified cables with sufficient line cross-section.
- Disconnecting Device: Install an appliance switch or circuit breaker (IEC 608947-1, IEC 60947-3) within reach and clearly marked.
- Electromagnetic Fields: Lay connecting cables separately from mains cables and keep them as short as possible. Shield from strong fields; use a mains filter if necessary. Connect the protective conductor.
- Terminal Designations:
- PE (IN): Mains protective conductor (for 230V and 100-240V).
- N (U) (IN): Grid, Neutral conductor (U for 24V).
- L (V) (IN): Grid, Phase (V for 24V).
- n (OUT): Neutral conductor, secured with 4A.
- l (OUT): Phase, secured with 4A.
- System Components: Connect to output terminals of relays 1-4. If requiring mains power, connect external switched mains voltage to the root contact of the respective relay. Connect neutral conductor and protective conductor as applicable.
- External Voltage: If applying external voltages to relay contacts, affix a warning label to the device.

Indicator Bottle Connection
- Flawless operation is guaranteed only with Heyl Testomat 2000® indicators.
- Ensure the screw cap with hole and insert are correctly assembled onto the indicator bottle's suction hose.
- Water Intake Opening: Slowly open the manual stop valve. The measuring chamber should fill within two to six seconds. Restrict intake if water sprays from the measuring chamber hose.
- Automatic Venting: Occurs after switching on; indicator lines are vented and the measuring chamber purged until indicator is detected. This process cannot be interrupted. Acknowledge "voltage failure" error after completion.
