AmberLite-600i

PDF datasheet mirror for AmberLite-600i (DuPont). Verify with OEM before design.

Summary

Product identification

  • Product Name: AmberLite™ 600i Inert Resin
  • Manufacturer: DuPont™
  • Historical Reference: Previously sold as DOWEX™ MONOSPHERE™ 600i inert resin.

Description

AmberLite™ 600i inert resin is a non-functionalized, spherical acrylic resin designed for use in mixed beds. Its controlled density and particle size allow for the formation of an intermediate "inert zone" within a mixed bed, separating cation and anion exchange resins. This inert zone aids in collecting regenerants, reducing cross-regeneration, and improving water quality and rinse times in both internally and externally regenerated systems.

Applications

  • Mixed bed condensate polishing in fossil power plants.
  • Mixed bed polishing in industrial demineralization.

Typical Properties

Physical Properties

  • Copolymer: Crosslinked acrylic
  • Type: Inert
  • Functional Group: None
  • Physical Form: Brown to amber, opaque, spherical beads
  • Particle Size:
    • Particle Diameter: 585 ± 65 µm
    • Uniformity Coefficient: ≤ 1.2
  • Density:
    • Particle Density: 1.15 g/mL
  • Shipping Weight: 705 g/L

Suggested Operating Conditions

  • Temperature Range: 5 – 120°C (41 – 248°F)
  • pH Range: 0 – 14

Hydraulic Characteristics

  • Estimated bed expansion and pressure drop data are available in Figure 1 and Figure 2, respectively. These figures show estimations as a function of backwash flowrate, temperature, and service flowrate. The pressure drop expectations are valid at the start of a service run with clean water.

Product Stewardship

DuPont emphasizes product stewardship, assessing health, safety, and environmental information for its products. Customers are encouraged to review their processes and applications to ensure safe and appropriate use of DuPont products. Consult Safety Data Sheets (SDS) before use.

WARNING: Oxidizing agents, such as nitric acid, can attack organic ion exchange resins and may lead to hazardous reactions. Consult knowledgeable sources before using strong oxidizing agents.
