Suggested Operating Conditions
| Application | Syrup Temperature | Syrup pH | Dissolved Oxygen Concentration (Recommended) | Dissolved Oxygen Concentration (Maximum) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dextrose (K⁺ form) | 60 – 71°C (140 – 160°F) | 4 – 7 | < 0.1 ppm | 0.25 ppm |
| Beet Molasses (K⁺ form) | 80 – 85°C (176 – 185°F) | 7 – 12 | < 0.1 ppm | 0.25 ppm |
| Glucose/Lactose (Na⁺ form) | Depends on the application | Depends on the application | < 0.1 ppm | 0.25 ppm |
| Simulated Moving Bed Operation | With optimized tuning (annually) | N/A | N/A | N/A |
Note: Oxygen concentration in feed streams and elution water should be limited to less than 0.1 ppm (0.25 ppm maximum) to maximize resin life.
Hydraulic Characteristics
The document includes figures and equations for:
- Estimated bed expansion as a function of backwash flowrate at 25°C (77°F).
- Estimated pressure drop as a function of service flowrate and 42% HFCS concentration (30% D.S. and 50% D.S.).
- Thermal expansion as a function of temperature and ionic form.
Specific values are presented graphically in the referenced figures and can be calculated using provided equations.
