Suggested Operating Conditions
Beet Molasses (K⁺ form)
- Syrup Temperature: 80 – 85°C (176 – 185°F)
- Syrup pH: 7 – 12
- Dissolved Oxygen Concentration: Recommended < 0.1 ppm, Maximum 0.25 ppm
Simulated Moving Bed Operation
- Oxygen should be removed from feed streams and elution water.
- Limiting dissolved oxygen to less than 0.1 ppm (0.25 ppm maximum) is recommended to maximize resin life.
Hydraulic Characteristics
Information regarding bed expansion as a function of backwash flowrate and pressure drop as a function of service flowrate for the 350-µm size is available, along with thermal expansion data. Equations are provided for calculating these parameters at different temperatures.
