Summary
Product Identification
Product Name: AMBERLITE™ FPA55 Ion Exchange Resin Product Type: Food-grade, Gel, Acrylic, Weak Base Anion Exchange Resin Manufacturer: DuPont (now DuPont de Nemours, Inc. and affiliates)
Description
AMBERLITE™ FPA55 is an acrylic, gel, weakly basic, anion exchange resin designed for the nutrition and bioprocessing industries. It offers an improved rinse profile compared to AMBERLITE™ FPA53, providing cost benefits and operational flexibility. Its flexible acrylic polymer matrix ensures excellent physical stability and enhanced resistance to organic fouling, leading to a longer service life. The gel structure provides higher capacity and longer run lengths than macroporous resins. Its higher basicity makes it suitable for removing weak organic acids.
Applications
- Nutrition:
- Dairy processing
- Sweetener deashing
- Sweetener deacidification
- Organic acid purification
- Bioprocessing:
- Decolorization
- Removal of organic color bodies
- Natural product extraction
- Recovery of antibiotics from fermentation broth
