Summary
Product identification
- Product Name: AmberLite™ HPR6700 Ion Exchange Resin
- Product Type: Acrylic, Gel, Weak Base Anion Exchange Resin
- Intended Use: Industrial Demineralization
- Previous Product Name: AmberLite™ IRA67RF Ion Exchange Resin
Description
AmberLite™ HPR6700 is a high-quality weak base anion exchange resin designed for industrial demineralization applications requiring high performance and cost-effectiveness. It balances high operating capacity with low pressure drop, aiming to reduce regenerant and water consumption. This resin is suitable for use with strong base anion resins to enhance demineralization system efficiency and throughput. It effectively removes mineral acids, carbon dioxide, and organics, thereby reducing the load on strong base anion resins and protecting them from organic fouling. The hydrophilic acrylic structure provides exceptional physical stability and resistance to organic fouling, allowing operation under continuous high loads of natural organic compounds at temperatures not exceeding 35°C (95°F).
Applications
- Demineralization, particularly for water with:
- High organic fouling potential
- High percentage of mineral acidity (FMA)
- Relatively high remaining carbon dioxide content
- System layouts without a degasifier
System Designs
- Co-current
- Counter-current / Hold-down
- Packed beds

Hydraulic Characteristics
Estimated bed expansion and pressure drop data as a function of backwash flowrate, service flowrate, and temperature are shown in Figures 1 and 2, respectively. These estimates are valid at the start of the service run with clean water and a well-classified bed.
- Backwash Expansion (Figure 1): Temperature range of 10 – 60°C (50 – 140°F).
- Pressure Drop (Figure 2): Temperature range of 10 – 60°C (50 – 140°F).
