Summary

Product identification

  • Product Name: AmberLite™ HPR900 OH Ion Exchange Resin
  • Manufacturer: DuPont
  • Product Data Sheet Form No.: 45-D01200-en, Rev. 1
  • Revision Date: November 2019
  • Historical Reference: Previously sold as AmberSep™ 900 OH Ion Exchange Resin.

Description

AmberLite™ HPR900 OH is a macroporous, strong base anion exchange resin. It is specifically designed for condensate polishing in fossil-fired electric generating stations and industrial demineralization applications where a balance of operating performance, simple operation, long resin life, and cost-effectiveness is desired. Its macroporous structure offers resistance to surface fouling, physical, osmotic, and oxidative stresses, contributing to increased resin lifetime. It is capable of operating reliably under high flowrate and pressure drop conditions typical for condensate polishers.

This resin is intended for use in combination with other resins, such as AmberLite™ HPR252 H Ion Exchange Resin and AmberLite™ 600i Inert Resin in TRIOBED™ Condensate Polishers. It can also be paired with AmberLite™ HPR1300 H Ion Exchange Resin for applications requiring high water quality and long runtime.

Applications

  • Mixed bed condensate polishing in fossil power plants
  • Mixed bed polishing in industrial demineralization
  • Systems requiring exceptionally high osmotic stability

Hydraulic Characteristics

Estimated bed expansion as a function of backwash flowrate and temperature, and estimated pressure drop as a function of service flowrate and temperature, are presented in Figures 1 and 2 respectively. These pressure drop expectations are for the start of the service run with clean water and a well-classified bed.

Product Stewardship

DuPont emphasizes product stewardship, which involves assessing the safety, health, and environmental information of its products and taking steps to protect people and the environment. Customers are encouraged to review their manufacturing processes and applications to ensure proper and intended use of DuPont products.

Customer Notice: Oxidizing agents like nitric acid can attack organic ion exchange resins under certain conditions, potentially leading to degradation or violent reactions. Consult knowledgeable sources before using strong oxidizing agents.
