Summary

Product identification

  • Product Name: AmberLite™ HPR9600 Ion Exchange Resin
  • Type: Uniform Particle Size, Macroporous, Weak Base Anion Exchange Resin
  • Intended Use: Industrial Demineralization Applications
  • Historical Reference: Previously sold as DOWEX MARATHON™ 9600 Ion Exchange Resin.

Description

AmberLite™ HPR9600 is a high-quality weak base anion exchange resin designed for industrial demineralization. It is optimized for high performance, cost-effective operation, excellent operating capacity, and good rinse characteristics, while aiming to reduce regenerant and water usage. This resin effectively removes mineral acids and organics, which can protect strong base anion resins from fouling and increase overall system capacity. Its macroporous structure provides excellent resistance to organic fouling and good kinetics, enabling good operating capacity even at low temperatures. AmberLite™ HPR9600 is suitable for use in single or layered bed systems, often paired with AmberLite™ HPR4200 (Cl or OH form).

Applications

  • Demineralization, particularly for water with:
    • High organic fouling potential
    • High percentage of mineral acidity (FMA)
  • Partial demineralization where weak acid removal is not required.

System Designs

Compatible with all system technologies and bed configurations, including:

  • Co-current
  • Counter-current / Hold-down
  • Layered beds
  • Packed beds
