Summary

Product identification

  • Product Name: AmberLite™ IRA900 Cl Ion Exchange Resin
  • Product Type: Gaussian, Macroporous, Strong Base Anion Exchange Resin
  • Manufacturer: DuPont™

Description

AmberLite™ IRA900 Cl is a general-purpose demineralization resin designed for reliable performance in industrial water treatment. Its macroporous structure offers good resistance to organic fouling and physical stresses, potentially leading to a longer operational life compared to gel Type I resins, especially in co-flow regenerated systems.

Applications

  • Demineralization, particularly for water with:
    • High organic fouling potential
    • High percentage of silica
  • Treatment goals:
    • Removal of strong and weak acids
    • Achieving low silica leakage
  • Organic scavenging

Note: Operating at elevated temperatures (above 60–70°C) may impact resin life. Consult technical representatives for details.

Hydraulic Characteristics

Estimated bed expansion and pressure drop data as a function of backwash flow rate, service flow rate, and temperature are presented in Figures 1 and 2 respectively. These figures are valid at the start of the service run with clean water and a well-classified bed.
